New Delhi, Jan 7: Former India skipper Bishan Singh Bedi on Sunday questioned the selectors for dropping dashing opener Virender Sehwag from the ODI squad for the ODI series against England starting Jan 11.
Selectors met at New Delhi after the completion of the third and final ODI against Pakistan to pick the squad for the upcoming ODI series against England on Sunday.
Sandeep Patil led selection committee on Sunday having decided to drop Virender Sehwag for the ODI series against England, invited more trouble as the legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi questioned if that was the only solution for India's dismal show in the last couple of months.
"Is dropping only Sehwag the ansr to all ills of Ind crkt t'day? Admittedly V've exprts unlikly 2 Q bcci fr reasons not unknown-dedwud stays!!", Bedi tweeted on his micro-blogging site.
Since the entire Indian team struggled against Pakistan, the decision to drop Sehwag alone would not solve the problem, felt Bedi.
Talking about the team's 10-run win over arch-rivals in the third and final ODI, Bedi congratulated the team.
"Well done India-nearl messd it-all's well ends well-really?!Probs persist which can't b brushd under carpet-Ind need frsh legs sholdrs ideas. Cruel crkt weatther at Kotla-both teams braving it out as do the crowd-daft ODI planing in North-1 to go at Dh'sala end Jan IndvEng!!!," Bedi, a veteran of 67 Tests and 10 ODIs tweeted on Sunday.
