Rajkot, Jan 8: India's Cheteshwar Pujara on Monday said that he would make use of the opportunity and try to cement his ODI berth if he gets a chance to play in the ODI series against England starting Jan 11.
Following Pujara's impressive performance in Tests, having scored 761 off 9 Tests selectors banked on the Saurashtra player as they picked him for the first three ODIs against England.
"It's every cricketer's dream to play all versions of the game. The selection in ODI is a dream come true for me. I have done well in Test cricket and will try to give my best in limited overs cricket too. I'll grab the opportunity with both hands if I get a chance to play against England," said Pujara, who is playing for Saurashtra in the ongoing Ranji Trophy quarter final match against Karnataka.
Pujara, having cemented his Test berth with an impressive performance in the last couple of months, is keen on being a regular member of the ODI squad.
With 361 runs in NKP Salve Challenger Trophy played at Rajkot in December, including back-to-back centuries at an amazing strike rate of 107, Pujara is looking forward to leave nmo stone unturned especially ahead of the ODI series, after being included in the squad for England ODIs.
Selectors having dropped Virender Sehwag, picked Cheteshwar Pujara as the team needed a consistent performer in the ODI team as well following a couple of defeats in the ODI series.
