New Delhi, Jan 21: Mumbai entered the Ranji Trophy 2012-13 final by virtue of first innings lead over Services in the semi-finals here on Monday at the Palam cricket ground. This is Mumbai's 44th appearance in the final of India's premier domestic tournament.
The match, which could not produce a result in the stipulated five days, had to be played on the sixth day as per BCCI's new rules. With rain playing spoilsport for two full days, the match was decided early on the sixth day.
Mumbai will now face Saurashtra in the final from January 26. Saurashtra defeated Punjab on Sunday.
Services, in reply to Mumbai's 454/8 declared, were bowled out for 240. The match ended in a draw but Mumbai progressed after taking 234-run first innings lead. Paceman Dhawal Kulkarni took five wickets.
