Virat Kohli apologises to BCCI

Mumbai, Jan 22: India's Virat Kohli apologises to BCCI after violating the guidelines and talking to a newspaper after India's seven-wicket win over England in the third ODI at Ranchi on Jan 19.

BCCI had sent a notice to the Delhi batsman regarding the violation, as he had given a lengthy interview to 'The Telegraph', as players are instructed not to interact with media during a series except at a press conference.

According to a report on Mid-day, Kohli has apologised to BCCI for giving an extensive interview during a series, which is strictly not acceptable.

Virat Kohli while apologising to BCCI, has also said that he was not aware of the guidelines, as he gave an extensive interview to a scribe during the ODI series. He has also stressed that it wouldn't be repeated in future.

It is also learnt that a BCCI official had questioned the support staff for allowing Virat Kohli to interact with the media while the support team has ensured that players would be briefed about the guidelines during an international series.
