A report on CNN-IBN on Friday hinted at The Wall of Indian cricket Rahul Dravid and the Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom in race for Padma Bhushan award this year.
Dravid, who retired from international cricket in March last year, has represented India in 164 Tests and 344 ODIs.
The third highest run-scorer in Tests, was awarded the Padma Shri award in 2004.
Having announced his ODI retirement in 2011, Rahul Dravid continued to play the longer version of the game while a disastrous tour of Australia brought an end to his glorious cricketing career.
