Mumbai, Jan 29: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar suggested his teammates to gift their share of prize money to youngsters after the team's emphatic 40th Ranji Trophy title win against Saurashtra at Wankhede on Monday.
Sachin Tendulkar talking to reporters after the team's historic win, said "Really happy for our team. Thankful to everybody, especially (our) association."
"Especially (happy) for Ajit Agarkar. He had a rough season last year but performed really well," said Tendulkar.
Having won the title for the 40th time to become the only team to have won it as many times, followed by Delhi (7), Karnataka (6), Baroda (5), Holkar (4), Mumbai was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5 crores.
While the Mumbai Cricket Association has paid the team members a whopping Rs 3 crores, BCCI contributed Rs 2 crores after their emphatic innings nad a 125-run win over Saurashtra at Wankhede stadium on Monday.
Following the cash prize being awarded to the team, Sachin Tendulkar also suggested that the senior players should be gracious enough to gift their 'share' to junior players.
