Bangalore, Jan 30: Former paceman Dennis Lillee has been appointed as fast bowling advisor to the Australia team, Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Wednesday.
"Dennis Lillee has joined Cricket Australia's high performance team as a Fast Bowling Advisor," CA said in a news report published on their website on Wednesday.
Lillee, who took 355 Test wickets in 70 matches, will be available face-to-face and mobile to the squad, CA added. However, Lillee will not be part of the coaching staff on overseas tours.
Australia are set to play India in a four-Test series from next month. First Test starts in Chennai on February 22.
"He (Lillee) will work closely with full-time bowling coach Ali de Winter as Australia prepare to tackle India in a Test series next month and then the highly-anticipated Ashes series starting in July," CA added.
