Mumbai, Jan 30: India's speedster Zaheer Khan, who has been recovering from a calf injury at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore is likely to miss Irani Cup as he has not been declared completely fit.
"Zaheer is not yet fit and it seems he would need at least three weeks to regain fitness," informed Mumbai Cricket Association's secretary Nitin Dalal after the selection committee meeting.
The left-arm pacer picked an injury during Mumbai's last league match against Gujarat at the DY Patil Stadium, and was not a part of the Ranji Trophy winning team since he was nursing his calf injury.
With the 34-year-old not declared fit, his participation in the initial part of the Test series against Australia starting Feb 23 remains doubtful.
"The rest of the squad remains the same," he added.
Mumbai, crowned winners of Ranji Trophy for the 40th time were without Zaheer Khan in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Mumbai made two changes to their Ranji Trophy winning side, by including Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma for Nikhil Patil and Sushant Marathe, according to the MCA official.
