Virender Sehwag to lead Rest of India

Bangalore, Jan 30: Virender Sehwag has been named captain of Rest of India squad to face Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai in Irani Cup 2013 from February 6 to 10 at Wankhede Stadium.

Sehwag, who was dropped from India One Day International team, has a chance to recapture his form ahead of Australia Test series which begins on February 22. Harbhajan Singh is also included in Rest of India team.

India captain MS Dhoni has opted out of Irani Cup and will feature in BCCI Corporate Cricket Tournament.

The selectors, who met here on Tuesday (January 29), also announced Board President's XI and India A squads to face the visiting Australian team.

President's XI will face Australia in a two-day warm-up game in Chennai from February 12. India A will taken on Australia in a three-day practice game, also in Chennai from February 16 to 18.

Paceman S Sreesanth is also included in Rest of India squad. Abhinav Mukund will lead President's XI while Shikhar Dhawan is named India A skipper.
