Chennai, Feb 4: The auction for the sixth edition of Indian Premier League was held at Chennai on Sunday, Feb 3. With Mumbai Indians signing allrounder Glenn Maxwell for $1 million, only player to hit the million-dollar-mark as franchises bought only 37 players out of 108 cricketers in the pool.
Franchises keen on picking the right blend of cricketers to fill the gaps were very choosy, as they analyzed the needs of the team before bidding and bought a few players.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, the only franchise to buy 7 players in IPL 6 auction. The Vijay Mallya-owned team focused on the team's bowling department, as they picked a couple of pacers and allrounders.
