Jaipur not to host IPL 6 matches: BCCI

Chennai, Feb 6: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the home of IPL team Rajasthan Royals will not be hosting the home matches in the forthcoming edition of IPL, while Rajkot and Ahmedabad will be Rahul Dravid and team's new home.

According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday during a meeting at Chennai decided to shift Rajasthan Royals' home matches from Jaipur to Ahmedabad and Rajkot.

Due to the long-standing impasse between Rajasthan's sports council, custodians of the stadium and the Rajasthan Cricket Association, Sawai Mansingh Stadium will not get to host the home matches during IPL 6 as Dravid's team has been asked to play their home matches at Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera and at the newly-built Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

The sixth edition of IPL will start on April 3, 2013 with Eden Gardens, Kolkata hosting the opening ceremony and the inaugural match including an eliminator and the final during the course of IPL 6.

Though BCCI has shifted the venues from Jaipur to Ahmedabad and Rajkot, a revised schedule is expected from the Board.
