Mumbai, Feb 7: Suresh Raina's century led Rest of India to 526 all out and Mumbai made a strong start on the second day of the Irani Cup here on Thursday.
At stumps, Mumbai were 155/2 in 43 overs. Wasim Jaffer made 80 while Ajinkya Rahane was batting on 55. Nightwatchman Shardul Thakur was 4 not out. Sachin Tendulkar, who bats at number 4, did not come out to bat with just 7.4 overs remaining when Jaffer was dismissed by S Sreesanth.
Mumbai's innings revolved around Jaffer and Rahane's innings. Jaffer looked in fine touch in his 80. Rahane too played well as he is looking good to add more runs tomorrow.

At tea, Mumbai were 61/1 with Aditya Tare the batsman dismissed by Ishwar Pandey. Ambati Rayudu is keeping wickets after Wriddhiman Saha was injured while batting. He was hit on the ribs by a Dhawal Kulkarni delivery on Wednesday.
Earlier, Suresh Raina struck 134 and Abhimanyu Mithun scored 51 as Rest of India posted 526. They were bowled out in 130.1 overs after lunch.
Left-arm spinner Ankeet Chavan took three wickets for 56 runs. Kulkarni and captain Abhishek Nayar had two scalps each.
Raina (114 not out, 159 balls, 13x4, 3x6) served notice to the selectors with a fine century for Rest of India (ROI) against Mumbai.
Raina, out of the Test team since late last year, has come back into the reckoning this this ton. Before the match, he had said that he wanted to perform well and win back his Test place for Australia series starting on February 22.
With the left-hander's ton the highlight of opening session, ROI reached 487/6 in 121 overs at lunch. This is Raina's 11st first-class hundred in 81st match.
Raina had resumed batting on 36 today. He played attacking shots to complete his century in the company of Abhimanyu Mithun after captain Harbhajan Singh had been dismissed early. Mithun too played his shots to remain 46 not out at the break.
So far, Raina and Mithun have added 135 runs in 26.2 overs for the seventh wicket.
