'No IPL games in Jaipur due to politics'

Bangalore, Feb 7: Former Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Lalit Modi has hit out at "politicians" for moving IPL 6 games out of Jaipur.

The IPL Governing Council has this year decided not to host Rajasthan Royals games in Jaipur, which has been their home. Now, Rajasthan will play their matches in Gujarat.

Modi feels the games were taken out of Jaipur due to "politicking." He said he was "sad" to see Jaipur not hosting games.

Reacting to this news, Modi tweeted (@LalitKModi) on Thursday (February 7) afternoon: "Sad to see IPL games move from Jaipur. Due to politicking. Time people told these politicians to get out."

In another tweet, he wrote "Rca (Rajasthan Cricket Association) from foremost cricketing association now makes a full circle to becoming zero again."

"Cricket admin and back room politicians like Arun Jaitley and Shukla have gained more thru cricket. Its time to stop this for once and all," he added.

IPL 6 starts on April 3. Rajasthan won the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008 under Shane Warne's captaincy.
