Chennai, Feb 9: Calling Sachin Tendulkar a "great player", Australia's acting Head Coach Steve Rixon says they will have plans in place to contain the Master Blaster in the four-Test series which starts on February 22.
Rixon, who is here in Chennai with eight of Australia's Test players, spoke to the media on Saturday (February 9). The Australian players began training today in preparations for the series. Rixon has been a part of coaching staff with IPL side Chennai Super Kings.
When Rixon was asked about Tendulkar's knock of 140 not out against Rest of India in Irani Cup, he said: "He is a great player...there is no question about that. Even now, he may be at the other end of his career but he is still a great player and has lot going for himself."
"We will certainly have plans for Tendulkar. The plans we have had for him in Australia, we have been successful and certainly we will have plans for him like we have for everyone else," he added.
