Mumbai, Feb 12: India's off-spinner Harbhajan Singh after revealing his plans to produce films, is planning to establish a cricket academy at Andheri Sports complex.

The veteran off-spinner who has been recalled for the Test series against Australia, was seen at the Brinhanmumbai Corporation (BMC) as the Mayor confirmed Harbhajan's proposal to open a cricket academy.

"The trust has received a proposal from Harbhajan Singh to set up a cricket academy on the Andheri Sports Complex premises. We also plan to form a cricket team of BMC school children who can be trained in this academy," Mayor told Indian Express.

According to reports, Harbhajan Singh has spoken about coaching BMC school children for free at the academy.

Though the proposal has been submitted, no action has been taken on it yet as the officials have requested the cricketer to give a detailed proposal.

Establishing a cricket academy is not new to Indian cricketers, as skipper MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh have been successful in opening a cricket academy in India.

With Harbhajan investing on films and planning to open a cricket academy, hope his focus remains on the cricketing field ahead of the series against Australia.
