Chennai, Feb 13: Ambati Rayudu's 87 and Moises Henriques' four-wicket haul were the highlights on the second and final day as the match between Australia and Board President's XI ended in a draw here on Tuesday.
Chasing Australia's 241, BP XI were bowled out for 230 with Rayudu's innings being the lone bright spot. Rayudu made use of the opportunity to further impress the selectors just few days after scoring a century for Rest of India in Irani Cup against Mumbai. Rayudu faced 150 balls and scored nine fours and three sixes.
In their second essay, Australia were 15/0 in four overs and the curtains came down the visitors' first practice game in India ahead of their four-match Test series.
Now, Australia will be involved in a three-day match from February 16 against India A. Gautam Gambhir will lead the hosts and will be looking to get some runs and win back his Test spot.
On the final day, right-arm paceman Henriques was the most impressive bowler for Australia. He bowled an economical spell with figures of 4/12 in 9.3 overs.
Offspinner Nathan Lyon warmed up well for the first Test with three wickets for 69 runs.
It was a good match for young offspinner Parvez Rassol who took seven wickets in the first innings. He also scored 36 today.
