Rajkot, Feb 14: India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara began a new innings when he married Pooja Pabari on Wednesday (February 13).
The wedding took place in a private party and media persons were kept away from the ceremony, "The Times of India" reported.
"The 'hast melap' ceremony was performed at 8.15 pm at the private plot located on Kalawad Road. On Tuesday evening, there was a 'sanji' ceremony where woman sang traditional marriage songs. This was followed by the 'dandiya-raas' at his house on 150-feet Ring Road," the newspaper report added.
Pujara's wedding reception is set to take place today (Thursday) on Valentine's Day and is likely to be attended by few cricketers. Indian Test players might not be present as they will be heading to Bangalore for the preparatory camp ahead of Australia series.
"Entire Indian team and the BCCI officials are invited," Arvind Pujara, Cheteshwar's father was quoted as saying by PTI.
The right-handed middle-order batsman Pujara will join his team-mates in the camp at National Cricket Academy (NCA). The camp will be held from February 15 to 18. First Test starts in Chennai on February 22.
Pujara and Pooja got engaged in November last year. Pooja has studied MBA and hails from Gujarat.
