New Delhi, Feb 15: Team India skipper MS Dhoni has had sleepless nights especially after a Test series loss to England at home and with another important series against Australia just round the corner, the Ranchi batsman travelled 70 kms from his hometown to offer prayers at a temple hopeful of having a successful outing against Ausrtralia.
According to a report on NDTV, MS Dhoni has turned to almighty for strength ahead of the four-match Test series against Australia. Since India has not been faring well in the last 18 months, all eyes are on the skipper and his World Cup winning team.
Since April 2011, India have lost two series to England in Aug 2011 (4-0 in England) and Dec 2012 (2-1 in India) while they lost 4-0 to Australia down under which also marked India's consecutive series defeats overseas.
Having lost 8 matches in a row, India managed to fare better at home against West Indies and New Zealand but the performance was not great either.
Moreover 2012 did not turn out to be good for Dhoni's men as they suffered yet another series loss to England at home (2-1) which has put a lot of pressure on the team ahead of the series against Australia.
Though Dhoni's visit to the temple is not new, since he makes it a point to visit the shrine every time he is in his hometown, but this one has been showcased in this turbulent time as he is hopeful of being successful against the visitors.
