India's preparatory camp begins in Bangalore

Bangalore, Feb 16: Indian team's three-day preparatory camp got under way at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here on Saturday morning. The 15-member squad started training at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as they prepare for the four-Test series against Australia.

On the first day's opening session, Indian players batted and were involved in fielding sessions as the camp began at 10am. Sachin Tendulkar, back with the Indian team for the first time since announcing One Day International retirement in December, 2012, batted in the 'nets'.

Left-arm paceman Irfan Pathan, who is currently training at NCA, also bowled at India batsmen.

Also, nine young fast bowlers and spinners will bowl during the next three days. These 15 were chosen by BCCI in what is called the "out-of-turn" system to identify raw talent.

India team will leave for Chennai on February 19. The first Test starts on February 22.

India squad: MS Dhoni (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay.
