IPL 6: Murali Karthik signs for RCB from Warriors

New Delhi, Feb 16: India's Murali Karthik will be playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the sixth edition of IPL after being released from the Pune Warriors squad on Friday.

Having played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Karthik joined Pune Warriors for the fourth edition of the lucrative league. After representing Pune Warriors in IPL, Karthik is heading south to don the red and gold jersey this season.

Murali Karthik has recorded 5 wickets from 17 matches at an average of 86.40 and an economy rate of 7.57 during his stint with Pune Warriors.

Moreover, Karthik's performance in the earlier seasons of IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders was comparitively better. With 16 wickets from 26 matches from 2008 to 2010, at an average of over 36, and an economy rate of 6.62.

According to the sources, Royal Challengers Bangalore signed the spinner at his base price of USD 400,000.
