Chennai, Feb 18: Australia's problems against spin were exposed by Rakesh Dhruv and Jalaj Saxena on Monday. Australia were asked to follow-on by India A after they were bowled out for 235 in the three-day practice game on the final day. The match ended in a draw.
Resuming at the overnight score of 131/4, Australia were all out for 235 in 62.3 overs. They trail by 216 runs and India A captain Gautam Gambhir was quick to enforce the follow-on.
It was a better performance in the second essay by Australia. They ended with 195/3 in 55 overs. Shane Watson topscored with 60 while his opening partner Ed Cowan made 53. The duo put on 104 runs for the first wicket.
Saurashtra's left-arm spinner Dhruv took 5/51 while offspinner Saxena had four wickets for 61.
Matthew Wade was the last man out with 44 runs.
