Chennai, Feb 25: Australia fast bowler Jackon Bird will return home from the tour of India to have a precautionary scan on his back, Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Monday.
Cricket Australia advises that Jackson Bird will return to Australia in the next 24 hours to receive a precautionary scan on his back, a media statement from CA said.
Australian Team Doctor Peter Brukner said: "Jackson has reported some low level back pain and we feel the best course of action to determine the issue is to send him back to Australia for scans. If the scans come back clear then he will return to India to take up his place with the squad."
Right-arm fast bowler Bird has played two Tests and taken 11 wickets.
