Captain Dhoni equals Ganguly's record

Chennai, Feb 26: India captain MS Dhoni has equalled former skipper Sourav Ganguly's Test record for most wins. Dhoni achieved the feat after the team defeated Australia by eight wickets in the first Test in Chennai on Tuesday.

Ganguly was the most successful Test captain for India with 21 wins. And Dhoni has now drawn level with the left-hander and is all set to overtake him during this series with three more Tests to play.

The second Test begins in Hyderabad on March 2.

Dhoni has so far captained India 44 times in Tests and lost 12 and drawn 11. Ganguly was at the helm for 49 matches and lost 13 and 15 were drawn. Dhoni took charge of the Indian team in 2008.

Second in the list is Mohammad Azharuddin with 14 wins from 47 Tests.
