Ticket sales for Hyderabad Test from today

Hyderabad, Feb 26: Following India's emphatic eight wicket win over Australia in the first Test at Chennai, the sale of tickets for the second Test match at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at Uppal commenced on Tuesday.

After Cricket Australia and BCCI officials' inspection, the venue was given a green signal to host the second Test match following the twin blasts last Thursday.

Cricket Australia officials and BCCI reviewed the security arrangements at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium ahead of the second Test match that is expected to start from March 2, 2013.

According to a report on The Hindu, 23,306 tickets will be up for sale, while the price ranges from Rs 100 to Rs 3000 for various stands at the stadium.

"There will also be 1,396 pre-sold tickets which include corporate box enclosures besides the 9,534 complimentaries for affiliated clubs, players and officials both former and current," Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary MV Sridhar was quoted assaying by Hindu.

"There will be no season tickets (that is one ticket valid for all five days)," said HCA president G. Vinod.

In the wake of the twin blasts, Hyderabad Cricket Association is leaving no stone unturned to beef up the security arrangements at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, which is expected to host the second Test match from March 2-6, 2013.

Talking about the same, HCA secretary said "It's a big challenge for us in the wake of Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts. We have been having a series of discussions with the security officials concerned. We are optimistic of conducting the Test successfully."

Rs 100 - 18,245 chairs (eastern and western stands - ground and first floor)

Rs 300 - South Pavilion East and West terrace ( 862 and 1750 seats respectively)

Rs 500 - South Pavilion West ( 1,205 seats)

Rs 500 - South Pavilion East (first floor-135 seats)

Rs 750 - South Pavilion East (ground floor - 926 seats)

Rs 3000 - Special enclosure (South-east near players pavilion - 80 seats)

Though the capacity of the stadium is approximately 34,153 due to the ongoing work at the stadium only 23,206 tickets are up for sale.
