Sehwag, after a poor run of form with the bat, was axed from the Test team by the selectors on Thursday. He will not be a part of the Indian side for the last two Tests against Australia in the ongoing series which the hosts lead 2-0.
"He (Virender Sehwag) may be out of form, but as they say 'form is temporary, class is permanent' and I believe Sehwag is in that list. I will be very surprised if Sehwag does not work his way back into the side," Hayden was quoted as saying by NDTV news channel.
The 34-year-old Sehwag has just one century in the last two years and in his last nine innings has not managed to get a fifty. In the first two Tests against Australia, he accumulated 27 runs in three innings.
