Axed Shane Watson back in Australia

Mohali, Mar 12: Australia all-rounder Shane Watson landed in Australia on Tuesday after leaving the tour of India midway following his sacking from the team due to breach of team orders.

Watson left India on Monday few hours after he was axed from the squad for not making a presentation to the coach Mickey Arthur.

Earlier in the day, Australian team performance manager Pat Howard had said that Watson was a team man "sometimes."

"I know Shane (Watson) reasonably well. I think he acts in the best interests of the team, sometimes," Howard had said.

Reacting to Howard's statement, Watson hit back saying CA general manager did not know him very well to form such an opinion.

"Pat Howard doesn't know me particularly well, he's come from a rugby background ... the best people to talk to are those who played cricket with me," Watson was quoted as saying by Australia's "ABC" news website on Tuesday evening .

"I love playing cricket, it's a privilege to play for my country. I accept that I did the wrong thing with what I did ... but I will always find it very hard to accept being suspended for a Test match for my country," he added.
