Mohali, Mar 13: India's Cheteshwar Pujara is declared fit to play the third Test against Australia starting tomorrow.
Pujara was hit on the left knee by a local bowler during batting practice on Tuesday. He had limped off the ground and had an ice-pack strapped to the knee. After that injury, he did not take further part in training.
On Wednesday, Shikhar Dhawan confirmed to the media that Pujara is fit to play the Test.
"Pujara is fit and ready to play," Dhawan said at the PCA Stadium.
Dhawan will be making his Test debut tomorrow. The Delhi left-hander will partner Murali Vijay at the top of the order.
Pujara struck a double hundred in the second Test in Hyderabad. India won that match by an innings and 135 runs.
India lead the four-match series 2-0.
