Pragyan Ojha takes his 100th Test wicket

New Delhi, Mar 23: The wait ended for Pragyan Ojha on Saturday. After bowling 26 overs, the left-arm spinner finally managed to get his 100th Test wicket against Australia on the second day of the fourth Test here at Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday.

Ojha, playing his 22nd match, became the third joint fastest to the 100-Test wicket club for India. The list is headed by EAS Prasanna who achieved the milestone in 20 Tests. Anil Kumble is second with 21 Tests.

Shubash Gupte and BS Chandrasekhar too took 22 Tests to reach 100 scalps.

Ojha dismissed left-hand batsman James Pattinson to claim the 100th victim. It was the first ball of his 27th over and Virat Kohli completed the catch in slips to give Ojha the joy of century. Ojha finished with figures of 1/75 in 26.1 overs with 6 maidens.

The 26-year-old Ojha, who plays for Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy, made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Kanpur in 2009. His best bowling performance is 6/47 against West Indies in Mumbai in 2011.

Ojha is the 18th Indian and world's 163rd bowler to get to the 100-wicket mark.

Ojha is also the fifth left-arm spinner from India to touch 100. He joins Bishan Singh Bedi, Vinoo Mankad, Ravi Shastri and Dilip Doshi.
