New Delhi, Mar 29: Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Gautam Gambhir has called upon his team-mates to play "fearless cricket" to defend their Indian Premier League (IPL) title this year.
Last year, Gambhir led KKR to title triumph and in this year's IPL 6, yet again they will be one of the favourites for the crown.
Stating that he is honoured to captain KKR, Gambhir said leading the side is not pressure for him.
"I feel honoured to lead KKR. If captaincy was about taking pressure for me, I wouldn't have become the captain. In KKR, we all share the pressure. We are all involved in every decision and hopefully we can go out again and express ourselves," Gambhir was quoted as saying by "Mail Today" on Thursday.
"A lot of questions have been raised over the last few years. Questions were raised that we weren't playing to our potential. We worked very hard and after the success we achieved last year, now is the time when we need to go out and enjoy ourselves. We need to play fearless cricket," the left-hander added while talking to the media in New Delhi.
IPL 6 begins on April 3 with KKR facing Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural match at Eden Gardens.
