Bangalore, Mar 31: Sri Lanka's Muttaiah Muralitharan joined Royal Challengers and trained with the team on Saturday (March 30) ahead of the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 6).
Muralitharan was seen giving tips to left-arm spinner Murali Kartik during the team's training session at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The 40-year-old will not be playing in Chennai match with the IPL Governing Council not allowing the Sri Lankans to play there due to prevailing anti-Sinhalese sentiments after Tamil Nadu government wrote to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
RCB camp will have a rest day today (Sunday) and will resume on Monday. Chris Gayle is expected to join the camp on Monday. AB de Villiers who got married on Saturday is likely to miss the opening match against Mumbai Indians on April 4.
IPL 6 starts on April 3 with Delhi Daredevils and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing off at Eden Gardens.
