Brendon McCullum to miss IPL 6 opener

Kolkata, Apr 2: New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum will be unavailable for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League opener against Delhi Daredevils here Wednesday.

The dashing wicketkeeper-batsman is nursing a hamstring injury.

He is yet to join the squad, said a KKR source.

McCullum, who holds the record for the highest score (158) in the IPL, is already scheduled to have a truncated his stint with KKR in the IPL this season, as he is to lead New Zealand on their England trip.

IPL 6 will commence on April 3 and the final is scheduled for May 26.

Gautam Gambhir-led KKR are the defending champions.
