Hyderabad, Apr 7: Yet another thriller was played out in IPL 2013 and Sunrisers Hyderabad won in Super Over against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday night. Sunrisers and RCB fought it out in a low scoring contest till the last ball of the Super Over.
Sunrisers needed 7 off the last over. It was bowled by R Vinay Kumar, who had given them a win in a similar situation against Mumbai Indians three days back in Bangalore. This time he was again brilliant but Hanuma Vihari and Dale Steyn stole a bye off the last ball to tie the game chasing 131.
Later in the Super Over, it was again Vinay who was handed the ball. However, this time he could not do well compared to earlier last-over stints as Cameron White smashed him for two sixes and Sunrisers scored 20/0 in 6 balls.
White scored 17 runs of just 5 balls. Thisara Perera, the other batsman was 2 not out off 2. Vinay started the Super Over with a high full toss which was a no ball.
RCB's Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli were up against Steyn in the Super Over. With 21 needed, a four (Kohli in the third ball) and six (5th ball from Gayle) brought down the equation to 7 in the final ball and Steyn restricted Gayle to a single. RCB ended with 15/0 in the one-over eliminator and Sunrisers won in nail-biting climax.
