Hyderabad, Apr 8: Sunrisers Hyderabad's Super Over batting hero Cameron White feels his team's batsmen need to come good in future matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2013).
White smashed two sixes in the Super Over bowled by R Vinay Kumar to give Sunrisers a thrilling victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday night (April 7). After Sunrisers made 20/0 in Super Over, Dale Steyn kept RCB to 15/0.
"We need to lift our game as batsmen. As I said, the bowlers are doing to a good job. From a batting point of view, myself definitely included, we have to make the bowlers' job a bit easier and bat better," White said.
"Lot of things could have been done better. We definitely could have batted and fielded better. The bowling is quite good at the moment. But, there are still some areas to work on as well. "We are fighting hard to win these matches. So, there is a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully, on Tuesday we can show some more improvement to win," the Australian added.
In both matches so far Sunrisers' batsmen have failed to score big. In the opening game against Pune Warriors, they had 126 and on Sunday they tied the score of 130 against RCB.
White said their bowlers did a "good job." "I think the bowlers did a good job in the first innings to restrict RCB to 130 and then Vihari played nicely to get us to the super over. It is nice to get a score we could defend," White said.
SRH and RCB will face again on Tuesday (April 9) in Bangalore.
