IPL 2013 Match 10 Highlights: MI Vs DD

Mumbai, Apr 9: Finally, a big score has arrived in IPL 6. Mumbai Indians are the first team to breach the 200-mark this season as they posted a mammoth 209/5 and with the help of that tall score they crushed Delhi Daredevils by 44 runs in the 10th match of IPL 2013 on Tuesday night at Wankhede Stadium.

Scorecard

Prior to this game, all nine had produced relatively low scores with 165 (by Rajasthan Royals) being the highest. But that trend was changed on a perfect batting strip with Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma pulverising DD bowling attack.

Here are the highlights of this match

# Dinesh Karthik's blitzkrieg of 86 in 48 balls (14x4, 2x6) powered Mumbai to 209/5 in 20 overs

#  DD could make 165/9 in 20 overs chasing 210

# With this knock, Karthik took the Orange Cap from Virat Kohli. Karthik leads the run-scorers list with 183 in three matches

# This was third straight loss for DD. They had lost to Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals

# DD welcomed back paceman Morne Morkel but Virender Sehwag continued to remain on the sidelines

# Lasith Malinga played his first game of the season for Mumbai today

# Karthi won the Man-of-the-match award for his second half century of IPL 6

# Rohit Sharma was equally destructive as he scored 74 off 50 (4x4, 5x6)

# Mumbai hit 21 fours and 10 sixes. Delhi had 5 sixes (4 by David Warner, Morkel 1) and 15 boundaries

# Ambati Rayudu, in his brief stay at the wicket, scored at 300 strike rate. He ransacked 24 runs off just 8 deliveries with the help of two fours and two sixes

# Mumbai lost their captain Ricky Ponting for a duck in the first over

# Sachin Tendulkar was run out for just 1

# They were 1/2 in 1.3 overs but Karthik and Rohit combined well to plunder 132 in 13.1 overs. The duo scored at 10.02 runs per over during their third wicket partnership

# Mumbai were 38/2 in 6 overs. 50 was raised in 43 balls while 100 took 73. 150 off 98 balls and 200 in 118 balls

# Delhi lost Unmukt Chand in the first ball of the innings bowled by Harbhajan Singh. He was caught brilliantly by a Ricky Ponting, who flew to his right at short extra cover and pulled off a stunner

# This was second first-ball duck for Chand, who was bowled by Kolkata Knight Riders' Brett Lee in the IPL 6 opener

# Warner fought a lone battle for DD. He hit 61 off 37 (5x4, 4x6)
