Bangalore, Apr 10: Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has become the second skipper after Rajasthan Royals' Rahul Dravid to be fined $20,000 for slow over-rate this season of IPL. RCB maintained a slow over-rate during their seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday evening here at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
"Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined after the team maintained a slow over-rate during this evenings Pepsi IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Bangalore. At the end of the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore were assessed to be three overs behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration," IPL said on Tuesday night.
Since it was his first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Kohli was fined US$20,000, it added.
