Bangalore, Apr 11: Chris Gayle was yet again the batting star for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they completed an easy eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 12 of IPL 2013 here at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday night.

This was also the third straight win for RCB at home this season. Gayle smashed an unbeaten 85 off 50 balls with 9 sixes and four boundaries. The target of 155 was not enough as RCB cruised home in 17.3 overs.

# Chris Gayle smashed 9 sixes in his 85 not out. This was his second half century this season. He had scored 92 not out earlier against Mumbai Indians in Bangalore

# KKR were restricted to 154 and it was a below par score on this wicket

# RCB captain Virat Kohli took the Orange Cap from Dinesh Karthik. Kohli now has 198 runs. Gayle is close second with 191

# RCB hold both caps now as R Vinay Kumar wore the Purple Cap with 7 wickets. Today he took 2/36 in 4 overs

# Gayel won the Man-of-the-match award, his second this season

# RCB have now gone to the top of points table with six points from four points

# RCB lost 1 match so far against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Super Over

# RCB hit more sixes than fours 12 to 11

# KKR had 17 fours and two sixes

# RCB's RP Singh took 3/27 in four overs

# Kohli and KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, both Delhi boys got into war of words. Gambhir said something to Kohli after the latter's dismissal and the RCB skipper charged back towards the left-hander. However, another Delhi player Rajat Bhatia, who plays for KKR now, intervened and separated the duo and Kohli walked back to the pavilion

# This was KKR's second loss in three games

# KKR dropped Brett Lee for today's game and played Ryan McLaren

# RCB brought in debutant batsman KL Rahul for Murali Kartik
