Bangalore, Apr 16: Former South African fast bowler feels if he were to be still playing now, he, along with Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel would have formed the "most prolific" bowling attack in the world.
Donald, who retired in 2003 with 330 Test wickets from 72 matches and 272 ODI scalps from 164 games, heaped praise on Steyn. Known as "White Lightning" Donald said he is a "massive" Steyn fan and wished he could bowl with him.
The 46-year-old, who is currently working with Pune Warriors as Head Coach in IPL 2013, made these comments in an interview with IPL website on Tuesday.
"I've always been a massive Dale Steyn fan. Dale, for me, is like a racehorse. He's gracious and has the most fluent, uncomplicated and clean action. Not for nothing he is the world's best fast bowler. I just love what he brings to the game and I love what he does for South Africa," Donald told iplt20.com.
On what if he was still playing and been part of South African pace attack, Donald replied: "I wish I did. If I were to bowl with Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, we would have formed the most prolific attack. But working with them is unbelievably special. They are, at the moment, and hopefully for a long time to come, the best fast bowling pair in the world."
