Kolkata, Apr 24: Sachin Tendulkar failed on his 40th birthday but received a perfect gift from his team-mates as Mumbai Indians edged Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets in a last-over thriller in IPL 2013 at Eden Gardens on Wednesday night.
In the final over, Harbhajan Singh's 6 on the third ball and Ambati Rayudu's boundary on the fifth sealed the win for MI. Rajat Bhatia bowled the final over where MI needed 10 to win.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 159/6 in 20 overs. Jacques Kallis, Eoin Morgan and Manoj Tiwary made thirties while there was no half century from the home team batsmen. KKR would be happy with this score on a slow wicket at Eden Gardens. There was a 30-minute delayed start due to rain.
