Mumbai, Apr 27: By the 8th over of Royal Challengers Bangalore's chase, the game was as good as over. Formalities remained and Mumbai Indians cantered to a 58-run victory here at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday night in IPL 2013.

Scorecard; Over-by-over runs

It was expected to be a mouth-watering contest but turned out to be a lopsided affair. Once RCB's "Big Four" of Chris Gayle (18), Tillakaratne Dilshan (13), Virat Kohli (1) and AB de Villiers (2) were removed within the first 46 balls of a mammoth 195-run chase, MI were always the favourites. In the end, RCB battled to 136/7 in 20 overs.

Earlier, Dwayne Smith's half century and cameos from Kieron Pollard and Dinesh Karthik lifted MI to 194/7 in 20 overs. Smith laid a solid platform for MI with a 36-ball 50. Pollard's breezy 16-ball 34 and Karthik's 42 off 33 carried the momentum before RCB pulled things back in the 18th over where MI lost 3 wickets in 3 balls. Two run outs of Karthik and Ambati Rayudu (without facing a ball) and Pollard fell in three success balls.
