Mumbai, May 17: BCCI has convened an Emergent Working Committee Meeting in Chennai on May 19, Sunday to discuss the spot-fixing controversy in IPL.
"The President, BCCI, has convened an Emergent Working Committee Meeting, at 11:00 am on Sunday, 19 May 2013, at the Park Sheraton, Chennai," a BCCI media release said on Friday.
On Thursday (May 16), three Rajasthan Royals cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested by Delhi police for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing of IPL matches.
"The Working Committee will discuss, among other things, the fallout of the spot-fixing controversy in the ongoing IPL, in which three players have been arrested by the Delhi Police," the release added.
Also, BCCI has suspended former RR player Amit Singh as he was one of bookies arrested by police on Thursday.
"Mr. Amit Singh, a registered player with the Gujarat Cricket Association, who has also been arrested by the Delhi Police, has been suspended by the BCCI, pending inquiry," BCCI said.
