Bangalore, May 20: Opener Virender Sehwag and his fans won't like this comment coming from former Pakistan captain and pace legend Wasim Akram who said that the Delhi dasher "looks like a No. 11 batsman" in IPL 2013.
It was a forgettable IPL 2013 tournament for both Sehwag and his team Delhi Daredevils. They lost their 13th game out of 16 on Sunday to Pune Warriors and ended up at the last position.
Sehwag of the old was missing right throughout the league barring one innings of 95 not out against Mumbai Indians.
Akram, who has in the past supported Sehwag, now feels his hand-eye coordination are not the same and "looks like No. 11" batsman.
"Virender Sehwag has not done anything of consequence. His fitness and hand-eye coordination are not the same anymore and he looks like a No. 11 batsman," Akram wrote in his column for "The Times of India" on Sunday (May 19).
Sehwag scored 295 runs in 13 innings in IPL 6. He averaged 24.58 with 1 half century. His strike rate was 126.60.
