Bangalore, May 20: India paceman S Sreesanth was "sacked" by Rajasthan Royals team management a few days before he was arrested by Delhi police for alleged involvement in spot-fixing, according to a media report on Monday.
A report in "The Times of India" said that Sreesanth had been asked to leave the team after Rajasthan Royals' match against Chennai Super Kings on May 12.
"He had been asked to leave the team hotel in Jaipur itself," the report quoted an unnamed RR official.
"We had no idea that spot-fixing was happening. He was asked to leave because he had been throwing tantrums for the past few days," a team official told the newspaper.
The report also said that Sreesanth, after being left of the Playing XI in one of the games, confronted captain Rahul Dravid and told him that he is the best paceman in the country and had to play.
Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested in Mumbai last Thursday by Delhi police.
