Chennai, May 24: India Cements, owners of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, have distanced themselves from Gurunath Meiyappan by issuing a statement that he is "neither the Owner, nor CEO/Team Principal" of the team.
With pressure mounting the Meiyappan, who is the son-in-law of BCCI president N Srinivasan, CSK owners sent out a press release on Friday evening.
But Gurunath's verified Twitter profile says he is "Team Principal" of CSK. However in a matter of few minutes after Indian Cements issued clarification, he updated his profile deleting that.
