Kolkata, May 25: The IPL 2013 final between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will go on as per scheduled on May 26, Sunday, according to reports on Saturday.
With controversy surrounding the team CSK after the arrest of their 'honorary member' Gurunath Meiyappan on Friday night, there were fears that the franchise could be scrapped.
But reports in the media suggest that the final will be played as per schedule.
Gurunath, the son-in-law of BCCI president N Srinivasan, was arrested by Mumbai police on Friday night for his alleged involvement in IPL betting.
Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi had called for scrapping of the CSK francise after Gurunath's arrest. According to IPL ownership agreement, if the owners ared found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute, BCCI/IPL can terminate the franchise.
