New Delhi, May 28: Bowlers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, who have been arrested for alleged spot-fixing in IPL 2013, were on Tuesday sent to judicial custody till June 4.
On Tuesday, Saket court rejected police's request for two more days of custody for Sreesanth and the other two cricketers. The court also rejected Chavan's bail plea. Left-arm spinner Chavan had applied for bail for his marriage on June 2.
The trio will now be in Tihar jail till June 4. Sreesanth, Chandila and Chavan were arrested by Delhi police in Mumbai on May 16.
All three players have been suspended by BCCI and their franchise Rajasthan Royals too had suspended contracts. Police have also arrested several bookies in connection with IPL spot-fixing. Today, 2 bookies were sent to judicial custody.
The sixth edition of IPL concluded on Sunday (May 26) with Mumbai Indians winning the title by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs.
