Cardiff, June 21: India's paceman Ishant Sharma has said he is "not God" to bowl the same way everyday as he did against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy semi-final here.
On Thursday (June 20), Ishant bowled at his best and took three wickets for 33 runs in 9 overs. That performances won him the Man-of-the-match award and his spell was one of the highlights of India's 8-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.
"I am not God that I will bowl like this every day," Ishant said in his post-match comments.
"The wicket was two paced and there was lot of movement and bounce. I am happy that I could find my rhythm and hit the right lengths. It's very important to bowl in the right areas and I am lucky I did it," he said.
The tall bowler from Delhi said it was a good feeling to have bowled so well in helpful English conditions.
"It's a good feeling. I don't want to call myself the leader of the pace attack because we are working hard as a team and Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) and Umesh (Yadav) are bowling well as well. It's team work," Ishant explained.
He said that he was bowling well from IPL 6 and had continued the same form in the Champions Trophy.
"I was bowling well in the IPL and I am just taking that momentum forward. It's not only about conditions, it's about bowling in the right areas. I have been doing this from the IPL," he said.
"MS (Dhoni) bhai is always supporting and it's a pleasure to have him as our captain," he added.
