Mumbai, June 25: Irfan Pathan has been ruled out of the Celkon Mobile Cup tri-series in the Caribbean and will be replaced by right-arm medium paceman Shami Ahmed, BCCI selection committee said.
"Irfan Pathan has been ruled out of the tri-series in the West Indies, due to a hamstring injury. The All India Senior Selection Committee has picked Mohammed Shami as his replacement in the Indian team," BCCI said in a media statement on Monday (June 24).
Pathan did not play a single game in the Champions Trophy which India won on Sunday (June 23).
The 25-year-old Shami has played 5 One Day Internationals for India, taking 4 wickets.
The tri-series starts on June 28.
