Bangalore, June 27: Former India captain Anil Kumble will be conferred with an honorary doctorate by the University of Mysore.
Kumble is among five personalities chosen by University of Mysore for the honour. Kumble and four others will be conferred with honorary doctorate on July 5 at the 93rd annual convocation in Mysore.
The former legspinner, who is currently serving as the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), took 619 Test wickets in 132 matches.
The 42-year-old, one of the legends of the game, also played 271 One Day Internationals, taking 337 scalps.
During this year's Indian Premier League, he was the chief mentor of Mumbai Indians. The franchise won the title defeating Chennai Super Kings last month.
