Mumbai, July 2: MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the ongoing Celkon Mobile Cup tri-series tournament due to a hamstring injury and Virat Kohli will captain India in his absence. Ambati Rayudu will replace Dhoni in the 15-man squad.
"Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-series in the West Indies, due to a hamstring injury," said BCCI in a statement on Monday night (July 1).
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked Ambati Rayudu as his replacement in the squad. Rayudu will join the team at the earliest. Virat Kohli will lead India in the remainder of the tri-series," the statement added.
Dhoni was injured during India's match against West Indies on Sunday (June 30). He did not field during the game and Dinesh Karthik was the wicketkeeper.
Rayudu, who plays for Baroda in Ranji Trophy, is uncapped.
