John Buchanan quits New Zealand Cricket

Wellington, July 19: Former Australia coach John Buchanan has quit as Director of Cricket with New Zealand, the country's cricket board announced on Friday.

"New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and its Director of Cricket John Buchanan have announced today that Buchanan will be leaving NZC, effective 19 July 2013," NZC said.

Buchanan, who took up the role at NZC in May 2011, is disappointed to be leaving NZC at this time as he has enjoyed his work there. However due to family circumstances, he has decided to return to Australia, the board added.

Buchanan was appointed by NZC till the 2015 World Cup.
